Nate found himself surveying the outskirts of Traverse town out beyond Sarah's coffee shop. This area was currently uninhabited and would serve perfectly for his needs. The wizard thus began laying out markers that would define the boarders of his newly planned district. "Heh we just need to demolish the buildings and clear the land. And then we can start bringing a splash of nature to this town." He remarked.

All of this had started a few days ago when rummaging through his pockets had led him to rediscover his Magic the Gathering deck. It had been in his jacket pocket when he'd first interfered but getting caught up in exploring the magic of this his RPG splat books and of this multiverse had made him forget about it untill now. As he'd flipped through the cards he'd felt his interference powers reacting to them in much the same fashion as his Table top gaming books. He could feel the pull of planes walker style magic the problem was that he needed the right kind of mana to fuel it.

He quickly discovered that playing a land card wasn't quite so simple a matter. Rather than generating terrain his land cards had ended up teaching him the seals needed to lay his mark on and claim the corresponding types of terrain. Once claimed in this maner then he'd discovered he could start collecting mana. He'd been fortunate to discover that his Manamart had enough qualities of an arcane sanctum to resonate with that card's sealing signature. As such he had an established source or white, black, and blue mana.

Much to Nate's chagrin however he'd been confronted with the fact that his wonky four color witch deck had been built around foundation of green mana. Green mana which the urban sprawl of Traverse was loath to produce. The town was was devoid of any forrest or green space to claim and harvest and thus thevwizard had set out to create his own. He'd talked over the endeavor with Sarah spinning the project as a healthy injection of some nature to the otherwise perpetually urban environment. The town's perpetual night would perhaps be a challenge but he already has som ideas on how to work around that.

"So then Tabby think you're up to this? The goal is to cut loose and tear down as much as you can within the confines of this marked off region." Nate then questioned and explained. He'd marked off a massive area he hoped would be large enough house an entire self sustaing forrest ecosystem, accommodate a neat and tidy public park, and perhaps most ambitiously of all, contain the labyrinthine tunnel system of a planned Golgari guildgate. "If you start from the middle you can rampage without concern while I handle the more precise demolition work around the borders."

Tabby seemed unsure. Her powers had waned since her second napping, and, rather than having confidence in her natural abilities, she'd developed this juvenile habit of wanting to first be shown a spell, then imitate it, rather than use her imagination, or whatever felt most natural.

This was not the typical way of a budding sorceress, but she seemed scared to perform any magic other than those taught for fear of the consequences. Nearly having her mortal form and soul violently usurped by the beings of the infernal plane, she now approached magic with a healthy, if unnaturally cautious, level of respect.

"Of course, Master Nate," she'd come to start calling him, despite his protests to the contrary, "just... what exactly do you want me to do?"

The meaning was simple enough to determine: show me the spell you wish for me to use.

"Tabby caution is good thing. But problem solving and independent thinking are also important." Nate placed a hand on her shoulder and teleported them to floating position hovering over the center of the region. "For now give this spell a try." He added as he began casting "Quake III" The rank 3 earth spell allowed him to reach down into the local geology and exert his will. The ground rumbled as Nate set about undermining structural foundations and toppling buildings with his magic. After a few edifices were down he then asked his now meek apprentice. "Got it? Think you can manage that?"

While waiting for her response the wizard found himself wondering how to encourage her to take more initiative. Hmm after we finish here I should probably start sending her on more difficult training missions and assignments. Given that he had plans to build a training dungeon he figured it wouldn't be too hard to set her up with a series of more challenging quests. Quests designed to help her gain more confidence in herself. He had already sent her on a few solo errands but he feared they might have been too easy. That and perhaps he feared he was coddling her too much by giving into her requests for clear instruction/display.

Tabby would close her eyes. While invisible to the naked eye, Tabby would feel the will of her magic. It would seep through the air like tiny tendrils, and burrow through the earth like roots. Once she had a solid hold, she'd expand and shake. The earth was forced to and fro, and while it lacked the magnitude of Nate's practiced attempt, it was effective in its objective, as a layer of road and a lamp post were reduced to rubble.

She's smile meekly, proud of herself, yet too self-depreciatingly modest to fully enjoy it. She'd turn to Nate, saying nothing, but clearly wanting his critique of her technique.

It was strange. Sometimes, he'd try to explain things, and it seemed so detached. He was acting on a thing like she might pick up a fork at supper. For her, she felt everything. All was an extension of her will. So far, she found it best to observe a spell, and simply attempt to replicate it in the way that made most sense to her.

A rare gift for a wizard. For a sorceress? She couldn't say.

"Hmm that's good for now if you can work out any ways to maximize your output further feel free to experiment. For now this entire zome is your stomping ground since the goal is demolition. Cut loose, go wild, and get creative." Nate then remarked.

"Hmm as a sorceress are you constrained by a limited spell selection? If so it might be best to focus on a core set of utility powers that can used and levaraged in several ways." Via his arcane sight he could see energy extending from Tabby and grabbing the ground.

"Mmm what you're doing right now does look like a good generic base. Reaching out and grabbing the essence of a thing or terrain. I recommend you experiment with using that on as many substances and materials as possible. Perhaps you should even try to grab the nonphysical and see whst you can do with that. As long as these buildings come down I don't care how you do it. Actually you'll get extra credit for every new building smashing method you can conceive of and display "

Tabby listened. While some of it was gibberish, she understood the challenge well enough. She'd look down at the town with the look of fierce determination she got whenever she was challenged, something we definitely got from Meg', and began doing as he bid.

However, rather than maximizing output, she seemed to be focused on going faster. Each time she focused the energy, it went faster and faster, until it seemed as if she could make the magic happen almost as fast as she willed it.

She'd target different parts, the ground, walls to make the building topple; taller buildings to have them fall upon the smaller ones...

Then she'd try something different. Suddenly, the effect would split as it descended, and she began to target two different places at the same time. At first it was simply shaking the earth to knock down two buildings at once, but then she started getting creative.

For one building, she caused the ceiling to fall in, and then hit the ground underneath it seconds after to cause the whole thing to explode outward, causing it to hit nearby buildings and nearly causing a chain reaction.

If she had more power, it could have been a problem.

A wicked smile crossed her face as she worked. It was clear she was starting to get drunk with the power. She'd laugh as she came up with new ideas to try. She'd use her will to lift parts of the rubble and wield it telekinetically to bludgeon buildings.

She started to contemplate animating things...

Her connection to her mothers was strong, and they would know the general idea of what was on her mind as she worked. Whenever she did something beyond her own abilities, they would feel the tug of it upon their own power.

"Good, good. Feel free to cut loose with your own power. But make sure that it's your own power that you're using. This is meant to be training for you not your mothers." Nate remarked as he observed, floating high above. He then summoned Ama and Meg to himself. <Keep an eye on her ok? If possible restrict the power that she can draw from you two. No more than 10% If she gets herself into trouble call me immediately but try to give her a chance to fix things herself. I fear that if we coddle her too much we might snuff out her capacity for independence.> He mentally projected this through a telepathic bond he'd made permanent. Although he was still relatively fresh to level 11 of D&D wizardry through the use of items he'd pushed his caster level past the minimum caster level of 13 needed for the act of firmly setting the bond. Now he could fully communicate rather than simply relying on the empathic link of hi familar bonds.

Meg responded with a smirk and the mental affirmation of <Got it boss. Heh I'm not gonna let anyone who calls themselves 'my kid' end up a meek little welp.> "Show momma what you've got girl!" She then jeered aloud, cheering on Tabby's destruction from her vantage point even as she monitored and restricted the amount of power drawn from herself.

<I'll do my best to make sure her training is both safe and productive.> Ama telepathically replied as well. The angel wanted to keep her child safe but also realized that her growth would be stunted if she was sheltered from taking any risks. "Remember dear. Make that power yours and control it do not let it control you." The angel said this and she was even more careful to make sure to restrict the amount of power tabby could draw upon beyond that which was her own.

Satisfied for the time being Nate teleported away to work on carefully demolishing the structures at the edges of this new district. He'd handle the border regions personally to make sure there weren't any unfortunate incidents involving inhabited buildings. Heh it would suck if I accidentally collapsed another building onto the crossroads... I'd never hear the end of it from Sarah or George. "Ok Tabby if you can pull this off without serious incident then I'll be back around 6PM. Do a good job and I'll be back with ice cream."

The tendrils of her will moved through the rubble, simulating a nervous system. The ground shook as the behemoth began to take shape and stand until it was a towering colossus of rubble and stone. Like a child, the being, still controlled by her will, frolicked about, destroying in it's whimsy. It would pick up tall buildings, and throw them gleefully, wiping out whole sections.

Unfortunately, it would drain the young apprentice quickly, and she'd begin to collapse, her magic leaving the entity.

The nervous system remained. The colossus would turn as if staring up it its master, and begin to pick up a large section of wall. It hoisted it up, just above its shoulder, like a shot put ball, and tossed it at the suspended platform with the exhausted, young sorceress.

<Boss man! Get your ass over here! Tabs made momma a bit too proud....> Meg projected when things took a turn for the worse. <She summoned some sort of titan with her own powers. Problem is that shes fallen unconscious abd tgis thing is displaying an independent and aggressive will.> Even as she explained this the imp sprung into action or ratger it was better to say former imp. Nate had been feeding her potions and teaching her how to tap into and harvest the primal energies of lust and arousal.

She'd long since grown past being a mere succubus and infact already stood on par with an Eyrines in terms of power. It had taken exponentially more energy to feed her growth each level but as per thier contract the wizard had provided. And now as per their contract she would perform. She found herself glad that her personal attachment for the girl lined up with the requirements of her duty.

Meg let loose the CoC style flesh smithing black magics she used to maintain her implike form. She grew to full human proportions as she used her own power to greater teleport over to Tabby's vulnerable form. Before the projectile struck she triggered a recall charm that yanked her and the girl through the fabric of space time over to Ama's current position.

The angel for her part was also reporting in as she took action. She realized Meg could get to Tabby faster so she figured she'd be more useful if she could gather intel and set up defenses. Casting libra acording to the style of white magic Nate had taught her she reported in. <Nate, this thing is as duruable as its powerful. It's heavily imbued with the power of earth but it bears traces of a firery vitality.> As she projected this Meg and Tabby flicked into existence at her side. Nate appeared as well with a moment and the angel proceeded to cast protega on the group.

"Well fuck... So much for ice cream..." Nate remarked upon arival and taking in the situation. As he felt the protega bolster him he said. "Thanks Ama, focus you efforts on helping her recover for now. I'll handle this thing. Meg cover me." The wizard doned his arcane plate armor as he began twincasting final fantasy spells in a red mage like manner. He drew upon both light and dark forming the spell 'Holy' into a defensive screen of hard light shielding their party further. Meanwhile the spell 'Darkaga' launched forth like a powerful lance of darkness to the strike the architecture titan.

"Well Tabby you certainly made something interesting... It seems MtGish..." He then remarkrd as he began taping into his own MtG magics. He knew he was still definitely short of being able to summon an effect that powerful with this system but what he liked was that drawing upon the power of his already claimed territory took little to no effort.

Despite having already simultaneously cast two Final Fantasy spells it was a trivial matter to "tap" his "arcane sanctums" and draw units of black mana from both Manamart and the laboratory inside his TARDIS gummi. With that mana he then called forth two swarms of typhoid rats. The feral rodents coalesed from the surrounding wreckage with huge terrifying vissages. For the moment they were horriblely out matched by the titan but... He had plans for them.

The bolt of dark energy impaled the colossal being through the chest. It showed no sign of that it could register pain.

Instead, it picked up a smaller section of wall, lifted one leg, like a baseball pitcher, and threw it as such. The wall flew through the air like a fastball, save with the spin of a poorly thrown football.

Even considering their distance, the colossal being's throw was powerful, and the wall would be on a collision course with them.

<MEG, AMA! GRAB TABBY AND HOLD ON!> Nate mentally shouted in alarm. He doubted his holy barrier could block that. Their only option was to doge. The problem though was also preventung that chunk of hurled wall from sailing out into an in habited district and wreaking havok. At the moment of immanent impact witg his barrier the wizard twin cast two more Final Fantasy spells. The holy shield shatterd but in the moment it did the 4 were no longer in its path but rather behind it/ where it had just been due to a teleport spell.

The space-time axis of FF magics was one if the ones Nate had the most practiced daily experience with due to the nature of manamart and his lab. As such it was with great confidence even as they warped that he cast 'graviga' on the wall. With in increased magical pressure upon it the wizard ensured that trajectory was insufficient to escape the borders of Park district. It instead smashed into some of the buikdings marked for demolition.

Meanwhile Nate's typhoid rat swarms had just finished recovering from the initial shock of being summoned and formed out of mana and substance from the blind eternities. Said shock was often refered to as summoning sickness. With the passing of the condition his rat swarms were now alert and much more receptive to his mental comands. They would suicidaly charge into combat for him if need be and well coincidentally that was exactly what he needed from at least some of them...

The wizard also noticed that his claimed territories, his "lands" had already generated two new usable units of mana. He decided to use this to summon an artifact known as a viridian claw from the blind eternities. Shortly after which he gave the comands for half his death touch bearing rat swarm to attack the golem. He didn't have enough energy to bless them with the artifacts power yet unfortunately thus they were doomed. But his fiercely loyal and death cursed rats would make sure to drag down their desinated target down into the graveyard along side theselves no matter how large it was.

<Ama what's Tabby's status? Meg scout around the border check out how far the stuff that's alread been hurled before made it.> Nate was worried about both the girl and the town. He was confident that Ama woukd be able to help her. Meanwhile with her at will greater teleportation Meg was one of the greatest scouting resources he had at hand short wasting the time and energy to scry out the situation himself.

Amarael had grown quite used to her fencer shifting her abiut with his spacial magics. As such durring the warp she'd been calm and unphased already beginning her libra diagnosis of Tabby. <Still a bit unclear Nate. I'm not reading any fatal conditions but her nature is still so odd that sometimes it's hard to make sense of... I'm ginna give her and elixer to hopefully alieve any physical or metaphysical exhuastion. I'll keep you posted on what I found out.> The angel poured the elixer out over her 'daughters face before leaning down to kiss her forehead and pull the unconscious girl into her embrace. She found herself whispering. "Don't worry Tabula mommas gonna make sure you come out of this ok. No matter what." She steeled her determination with that promise.

Mageara for her part flited away as soon she got the order to scout she checked towards the direction of first district initially. Her teleportation brought her into the sky above the area and with her keen eyes she sussed out the situation and then mentally relayed what she saw.

The last throw had hit the road just outside the demolition area. The roads would need to be repaved, but otherwise the damage was contained.

Tabby, meanwhile, started to stir. Her eyes fluttered, and she was still visibly weak. Seeing her mother though, she'd give a wicked smile, and Meg's influence would clearly show, "Lookin' good, Mom."

Suddenly, the sound of another rock hitting the ground would cause a thunderous boom that startled Tabby, nearly causing her to leap from Ama's grasp. She'd turn her head as much as she could, and saw her creation.

She was confused at first, "What? That's not supposed to happen. It should only have a nervous system as long as I..." she stopped, the realization of what had happened dawning on her, "Oh no." She'd take a deep breath, and begin focusing her will once more. She'd reach down towards the creature.

The living construct's body was already beginning to suffer from the lethal infusion of blackmana that formed the death touch aura of Nate's rat swarms. Large portions of its form fell inert before either crumbling away or sloughing off as death itself surged its way through to its core.

Nate took the moment of rest to assess what damage had already been done to the surrounding area. Fuck, Sarah's not gonna be happy about this... Although at least with that FMA alchemy I picked up from Mills cleaning up won't really be a problem. He noted this as he saw a few smashed buildings beyond the zone that he had marked out.

Gah hopefully there aren't any injuries or casualties. He found himself doubting that was the case however. He began summoning several golden saints and sending them out to the wrecked buildings. "Scout out the damaged structures. Inform any survivors that free medical aid will be provided for at the clinic above manamart. If anyone is unable to make the trip on their own report back to Meg and have her teleport them. Collect any bodies you find and bring them to my lab at the mart inform any surviving friends or family that they will be resurrected at no charge."

Nate then sent a telepathic message to Meg informing her of her upcoming ferrying task. <Oh and once you finish transporting victims please work with Ablyth to collect zone of truth verified estimates on each individual's material loses. Manamart will reimburse any legitimate loss claims 150%.>

Material expenditures weren't really much of a concern to wizard any more. He had means of effectively conjuring wealth by this point. Unfortunately money wouldn't wipe away trauma. He could raise the dead and heal the injured as well but the mental scars of being in a disaster would likely prove more difficult to heal. Ama was perhaps capable of the feat but it wasn't guaranteed.

<Ama once you get Tabby settled and sorted out please be ready to help Jegudiel out in the clinic. You'll likely need to help provide mental and spiritual healing. Especially if I end up having to resurrect anyone...> The wizard sighed. "Please let the casualty rate be slim to none..."

As the colossus crumbled away under the rapid decay, like aeons had passed for the being until it had withered away, Tabby was was ill at ease. She was haunted by her theory of what had happened, what it meant, and worse still, what might happen if they knew.

Fortunately, she was exhausted, so it was no great feat to express that fatigue in order to avoid the inevitable questions. If asked, she'd insist she only wanted something to drink, something light to eat, and to go to bed.

"Tabby, go get some rest ok? Try not to beat yourself up over this. This is my fault, I'll handle finishing things up and cleaning up this mess." The wizard called out before drawing upon his available territorial mana to summon a Walking Atlas.

The wizard figured that while he waited for the reports from Meg and his deadra to come in he'd do what he could to finish up the Park District project. At least that way there would be at least some productive results from the day's efforts. As the terrain altering construct stabilized from it's summoning sickness the wizard then turned his attention to the deadly vermin he'd previously invoked.

Now that their job was done they had to be disposed of lest they turn in yet another disaster. Thus the wizard directed the two swarms to turn on each other. They soon tore into each other in a mutually destructive frenzy. As their death touch aura's collided they were violently annihilated by the lethal energies that composed their forms. When there were none left he muttered to himself. Never bring anything into this world that you aren't capable of readily dispatching. He should have been more careful in teaching Tabby that fundamental principle of summoning.

As she was sure others undid the damage of her mistakes, without asking her to so much as lift a finger to help, she crawled in to her sleeping bag. She sighed, already feeling the magic of the sleeping bag begin to take over her senses. Now that Ama' was gone, she'd finally begin to let out the tears she'd been holding in since she saw the damage she'd caused.

It had been an accident, but to have done nothing to help fix it, and worse pretended to be more tired than she was just to avoid doing so, was tearing her apart inside with guilt.

She didn't know what she could have done. Probably whatever Master Nate told her to, as per usual. Something about that left her irked. She loved her mothers, and cared for him, but sometimes she wished they'd just disappear for a time.

As her eyes grew too heavy to keep open, she decided that, after she woke in a couple of hours, that she'd do something without being told. She'd leave, not on her daily walks per her master's instructions, but simply to get away. She didn't know where she'd go, or what she'd do, but she couldn't stay here without doing something.

As she dreamt of pain and rage, tears rolled down her cheeks.
