The dark portal opened somewhere in Monstro's massive body. Ten Sentries waddled through the gate followed by the pair of Commanders. Shortly afterwards. Moments later a mess of heartless funneled through one after another, twitching from one side to the other as they formed neat and surprisingly well-ordered ranks. When the last of the heartless had stepped through, the impromptu leader made an appearance. Vandal struggled through the dark portal and took a quick look around as the door closed behind him. Nothing to see here really. A few open chests, some kinda clear sticky liquid and a lot of fleshy bit of pulsing purple and green.

Yep, definitely the inside of a whale.

Vandal looked at a few of the Minute bombs contemplatively. They twitched nervously under his calculating gaze (or it could've just be the fact that they were unstable and twitched anyways). These little guys were decently fast, a whole hell of a lot more than the rest of his troops. They would have to do for scouts.

"You, you, you, you, you, and you are gonna scout ahead and see if you can find anything," he told the bombs. The creatures hopped to the task, sprinting off as quickly as their little legs could carry them. He didn't really care what direction they went; their instinctual need for hearts would lead them to wherever the largest number of them waited.

He turned his attention to the two Commanders with him. It was eerie to see two copies of the girl he'd just thrown his lot in with only a few moments ago and know that they weren't exactly the same, even if they looked it from the outside.

"Go deeper in and see if you can find us some more troops," Vandal said. "If there are any other heartless here we're gonna use them." The two creatures nodded and pranced their way in the direction opposite the one the scouts had just taken

"Alright, the rest of you boys gets to set up a perimeter," Vandal bellowed. "Fan out and secure the area! And remember, you get the kill you get the spill!" The remaining heartless and ten nobodies did as they were told and started moving every which direction. The Sentries were smart enough to simply find the nearest choke-points and hunker down with guns at the ready. The heartless on the other hand were simply doing what they could to take positions and set up traps. Not exactly the smartest bunch but the instincts they had were enough.

Now all there was to do was wait and formulate a strategy.

The Minute Bombs were able to encounter a metool, it seemed a number of them were acting as the advance guard...The creatures popped out of their invincible helmets and spewed spreadshot at the bombs, getting annihilated in the process. It was obvious to the commanders deeper into Monstro was only some sniper joes, having minor skirmishes with obviously disorganized heartless. At his hazard, about 70 robots of varying effectiveness, 30 or 35 humans with anti-heartless weaponry(easily seen by the aura of light from their bullets..) They seemed uneasy and unwilling to be here. Not wanting to fight.

Easy targets.

Vandal just barely heard the explosion through the bowels of the gigantic whale. Looks like his bombers had encountered some resistance. A smile; the tenuous link with the commanders he had was enough that he could tell that these soldiers didn't want anything to do with this place. That was a good sign for him. A soldier that didn't have any investment in his duty was one that wouldn't perform it at the cost of his life.

A commander extended and brought the free-roaming heartless under its control and forced them to retreat into the massive passageways. At the same time, Vandal sent in three of his sentries with the support of several dozen neoshadows using their ability to sneak along the ground. An number of lance soldiers and armored knights stepped forward and prepared to run after the the first wave when given the signal.

The sentries opened up with their guns in their light cannon modes as soon as they passed into the chamber with with the resistor troops, targeting the various robots. The neoshadows followed soon after and popped up underneath the feet of several human troops with vicious swipes of their claws. At that moment, the group of emblem heartless charged in and descended on the embattled ranks. And as a final coup de grace the heartless that had previously retreated returned to the fray to crash into the backs of the robots.

To their credit, after the initial attacks, the human troops were on high alert and the robotic soldiers were acting as their vanguard. They were able to spot the shadows attacking, and before their ranks were broken, they let their bullets ripple across the ground to devastating effect...Again showing the wisdom of investing in light-infused weaponry. However, no amount of preperation could truly prepare them for the epic wave of heartless and nobodies that began to descend. While they kept their composure, attempting to funnel the creatures in, it was obvious they'd played the group like a damn fiddle. To that end, the captain(easily seen by a peaked cap) activated a small stone on his lapel..He changed, a gem on his forehead and a strange tint to his eyes and skin...His features more like the Espeon that was sealed inside the gem.

"It's a wash! Let that old bastard's toys take the fall, and contact the ship. We're pulling out while we've still got room to breathe here!"

The commander turned and opened a palm, a beam of psionic energy punching through one of the heavier heartless and killing it...He knew there wasn't much of that to go around, and the men weren't going to risk their own Pocket monsters in a last stand...One of the troops, a radio-man, sent the signal out for a ship to come in for pickup. It was about time they left this godforsaken hole.

The Wily robots were directed to cover them as they retreated, a number of the troops called out their eeveelutions to open fire with their elemental attacks, opening up a path towards monstro's mouth as they slowly progressed...

"And that's game, folks!" Vandal said bombastically. None of the present heartless or nobodies showed any real reaction to the display but he wasn't overly concerned with that. It must have been annoying to not have any emotions or anything resembling higher functions. Well, not every one could be as lucky as he was.

But that was enough of that. There was a battle to win and an enemy to crush.

Vandal sent the rest of his heartless charging into the whale's cavernous mouth and ordered the remaining seven of his sentries to take up firing positions with their cannons set in "heavy-mode". He left it up to the creatures to select the targets on the condition that they destroy as many of the robots and eevees as they could before switching to the humans. He had the commanders maneuver a large group of heartless on the enemy flanks to keep their attention occupied. Away from the nobodies.

And then the general himself took to the field, jumping up onto the ship to gain a vantage point. He spotted the pointed hat intermingled among the less important looking grunts and thought about how much chaos he could cause if the guy suddenly were to get dropped. With that though in mind, Vandal morphed his Multi-tool into a high-powered sniper rifle, took aim, and and sent a few rounds down range towards the man's torso.

The Captain gasped out blood from the sudden shot, he had a hole blown in his chest...He knew he was a bit more durable, but it was obviously enough that they had more where that came from...High powered weaponry, huh?

"Let...them know...HQ. Put on your masks..and tell them they can use guns now. Dammit...damn that fucking crackpot." He said, taking the grenades out of his belt...He had his fingers ready to set them all off at once. Every chemical grenade they had...Blinding agents, smoke, toxins, hallucinogens, even corrosives and a sticky gel that'd trap any caught inside. But the biggest one of all? The plasma and napalm.

He was dead already. But Vandal could see that determination as the rest of the squad put their gas masks on and took out their own napalm grenades...They knew how Monstro would react, and the robots(who were already decimated but doing kamikaze charges into the turret-like monsters and doing massive damage) were managing to hold them long enough for the squad(at around 20, now, the others trapped or already caught in the rush) to be a sprint for the ship waiting outside.

"Fuck this whale, fuck your army, and fuck you!" The captain shouted, rushing into the cannons, who attempted to chew him through with their fire...A massive detonation, and the heartless were either covered in searing painful fire jelly or disintegrated, a mix of toxic and painfully searing gases spreading to obscure the battlefield...
Monstro was thrashing and so the whole battlefield shook, the gases and fire in his mouth causing the poor whale inordinate pain...The heartless and nobodies were rocked and sent off their balance by the spasms...
The rest of the squad stuck the the ground and rushed for the exit, using a cough from the whale to head out into Gummi space...The robots were deeper into the guts still fighting any expeditionary forces, but they managed to force the resistors out without too much issue.

Vandal had almost be thrown clean off of his feet when the grenades went off and the whale started thrashing about. He stumbled around on the wooden planks beneath his feet as he struggled to remain standing. When he heard the first signs of the coming cough, the heartless used his Multi-tool to anchor himself to the mast of the ship and held on tight, ordering his forces to do the same with anything that they could. When the blast of air came, Vandal did his best to not get blown out into the void beyond. Afterward, he surveyed the battlefield and the damage the kamikaze rush had caused.

A reasonably sized chunk of his heartless where gone or in the process of extracting themselves from the goo left by the last attack. His nobodies were mostly intact but he'd lost a trio of his sentries to the blast but luckily the rest had been far enough back to avoid lethal damage. Further in, he could sense that his neoshadows were still fighting it out with the few robots that remained. A few of the more powerful heartless were directed in that direction to mop up.

All said and done, he'd lost an entire company of heartless and close to half of another. But the whale was clear now and the heartless that got swallowed up her would be safe for the moment.

It was a good day to be a heartless.

It made Vandal smile.

He left the commanders in charge and stepped through the dark portal he spawned in front of him. It was time to report his success.
